Since 2009, Frederique Constant has been paying tribute to the legendary 1920s’ Runabout yachts. In 2013, the Brand started a partnership with the RHS (Riva Historical Society): a Milan-based association founded in 1988, dedicated to the preservation and restoration of classic Runabout boats that were designed by the passionate boating enthusiast, Mr Carlo Riva. Piero Mario Gibellini and Carlos Riva founded this non-profit organization, whose purpose is to preserve the worldwide patrimony of this established heritage.

DESIGN
The Runabout range features a 42 mm stainless steel and a rose gold-plated case. The cases undergo a polishing treatment, reminiscent to the lustrous appearance of the Runabout boats. Protected by a convex sapphire crystal, the Runabout dials bear Frederique Constant’s classic hobnail pattern with a central guilloche. The Arabic numerals, indexes, and hands are completed with a luminous treatment. The final detail on the dial is the date window at 6 o’clock with a magnifying lens. Around the outer rim of the dial, the minutes are displayed. An elegant detail is the see-through sapphire case back, revealing the automatic mechanism. Distinguished by the engraving of the RHS pavilion.

THE ENGINE – AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH
The Runabout Automatic Chronograph models are powered by a FC-392 automatic caliber, displaying a tricompax chronograph (30-minute counter at 12 o’clock – hour counter at 6 o’clock – small seconds at 9 o’clock). The central second hand is dedicated to the Chronograph and the date is displayed at 6 o’clock. The 25 jewel Swiss-made caliber, beating at 28’800 times per hour, offering a 55-hour power reserve is protected by 50-meter water-resistant case that is perfect for boating.
